Husband of One Wife - Some Facts

Have you ever been reading through the Bible and come across something that made you giggle?

What a weird thing to read, "husband of one wife".  Well of course you'd be the husband of ONE wife!  What a preposterous thing.  Right?

Well.........
Let's talk about that for a moment....

First the verses in question:

1 Timothy 3:2 - A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;

1 Timothy 3:12 - Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

Titus 1:6 - ...if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination.

If you've come across those verses in the Bible AND you have a good Pastor in your life, you were probably told something along the lines of:

"Well, Paul was talking to Titus and Timothy about things that were actually going on back in those times.  You see, back then, in certain parts of the world, it was acceptable, even normal to have multiple wives, all at the same time.  But don't worry about that stuff, it's not really important anymore."

Woah....
Hold your horses...

That teaching started off great, but ended in disaster!

Today in 2018, not only are there people in places all over the world that STILL practice polygamy, but there are whole religions that both teach AND practice it as well!  If you're old enough, you probably think I'm going to point you to the Mormons!  But guess what?  While it's TRUE that there are SOME offshoots of the Mormon religion that DO practice this, the larger LDS does not.  While we're on the subject, the only reason that the LDS do not practice this, is because the United States government (and indeed all 50 states) have made it a crime to do so.

So what religion am I talking about?

Oh boy!
This one is going to get me into some hot water for sure!

Remember the "religion of peace"?  You know, those nice fellas that like to strap bombs to their chests and murder thousands of people in a great ball of fire?  You know, the ones that like to get behind the wheel of a box-truck and murder dozens of people and families while they're out innocently enjoying a beautiful evening together?  Yeah, that was some sarcasm.

Islam not only practices this in OTHER parts of the world, they are practicing it right now, RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE here in the United States!  For those of you who don't know, the practice of polygamy has been going on not just since Mohammed taught about it in the 600's, but way before that as well.  Pagan religions have been encouraging it for at LEAST a couple of thousand years.

You might be asking yourself, "How can they get married  to more than one woman in the United States?  Didn't you just say it was a crime?".  And you'd be right to ask that question!  But first, let me show you what Islam teaches.

From the Qur'an:

Sura 4 (An-Nisa), Ayah 3 - If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice.

A quick note:  If asked, most Muslims will tell you that since the Bible was incomplete (that's what they'll say), it was left to Muhammad to finish it and fill in all the blanks.  Seems to me that the verses above are a HUGE contradiction to what's already in the Bible.  Seems to me God made it pretty clear you should only have ONE WIFE at a time.  But I'm not here today to show you how and why the Qur'an isn't the Word of God.

So that verse in Sura 4 shows you where Muslims get "permission" to marry 2, 3 or even 4 wives all at the same time.  But now we get to the nitty-gritty.  There is apparently a HOLE in every single one of the laws in the United States regarding the illegal practice of polygamy.  It's so HUGE that anyone can walk right through it while juggling!

Federal law (by way of the Internal Revenue Service) demands that a marriage is between TWO consenting adults.  Therefore any time you fill out your tax returns, there are only TWO places for names.  Your name and your ONE spouses name.  Getting married by a justice of the peace?  Don't even think about it if you already have 1 wife.

But what if you don't care about the IRS?  What if you don't care about tax deductions?  What if you want to get whatever you want and you want to get around the laws?  As I understand it (and I personally know it's true), depending on what nationality the Muslim is, it's as simple as asking your wife for permission to take another woman.  I know for a fact that's the way it is in both Pakistan and Iran.  There are other Muslim countries that don't even ask as much.  If a man wants another wife, they can do so, as long as they are able to properly care for and support all of their wives.

This is apparently the dirty secret that we're not supposed to know about.  Fact is, there's no law against CHEATING on your wife (because that's what's REALLY happening).  It's wrong, it's hurtful, deceitful and you shouldn't do it, but it's not a crime.  Fact is, you could have 100 "wives" if you wanted to, just remember not to CLAIM them in whatever state you live in or on your tax return.

But let me reel this all in for you.  I'm not suggesting that anyone lose their minds and start taking multiple women as wives.  That's insane!  God made it crystal clear regarding what He expects and what He demands of us.  I just wanted to set you straight that there are some things that your average "American" isn't even AWARE OF, much less your average "Christian".  If your Pastor doesn't know something, then he can't teach you.  If you don't know, you'll also teach something that isn't correct or true.

This blog is all about correcting false teachings and making sure that you're equipped for as much as possible.  While I'm not recommending you go out and become an expert in the Qu'ran, nor am I suggesting you go out and start reading the books that other religions use either.  What I am suggesting, is that you're not afraid to pick up those books, in order to make sure that you better understand the what's, where's, why's and how's about all sorts of things that you may come across in life.

While I would wish that every Pastor knew everything that there is to know about everything, that just isn't possible.  Even I learn new things every single day!  Never be afraid to learn, no matter what your friends or family think.  It's that thirst for knowledge and the never ending desire to be as close to God as possible that should drive you.

To all of those who would deny what I have written here or claim that I'm wrong or ignorant, a simple Google search or even a simple visit to Wikipedia will give you enough information to prove to you that I'm not making this up.  Even better - Ask a Muslim and see if they'll tell you the truth.  While I would hope they'd be honest, don't be too surprised if they lie.  Apparently Islam teaches that it's fine to lie to non-Muslims.  LOL.  Who's the author of confusion again?  Right!  It's Satan!  :)

Exodus 20:16 - Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Jesus Only Movement - aka Jesuism / Jesusism / Jesuanism

Please forgive me.

Sometimes it takes me a while to figure out WHAT exactly is going on.
And by "what", I also mean WHY is it happening.  Allow me to explain....

For the past few years I've been hearing (OFTEN) "Jesus never said.....".  And what He "never said" is a long laundry list of things including:
  • "Jesus never said that gay marriage was wrong"
  • "Jesus never said that doing drugs was bad"
  • "Jesus never said anything about giving to the church" (this one is rare)
  • "Jesus never said anything about women pastors teaching men"
Every time I hear those types of things (believe me, there are many more), I always wonder to myself, "Why is that a problem?"  I would think to myself, "There's a lot of things that aren't mentioned in the bible, should we therefore avoid or ignore all of them?"  The answer is of course not.  Just because something isn't in the bible doesn't make it good or bad.  Doesn't make it right or wrong either.

But see, this is where I've been trapped for the past few years.  I didn't understand WHY these things were important to make sure we're aware of...  UNTIL NOW!  😄

There is a segment out there that has been around longer than any of us have been alive, that have tried to prove that if Jesus didn't say it, then it's not important.  Fact is, the progressive liberal socialists are using this very old movement to pursue some very nefarious ends.  So let's think about that reasonably for a moment.  If Jesus is God and He didn't say something, then sure, I guess it's not important, right?

Well.......
It WOULD be right except for one teensy, weensy thing....

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

See that?  It says ALL SCRIPTURE is given BY GOD - SO THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE COMPLETE!  It doesn't say "only those verses that Jesus spoke with His own human mouth".

OOPS...  Wait a minute.  I just goofed!  Paul wrote that!  I can't quote Paul and have the "Jesus Only" group listen to me.  I'd have to quote Jesus Himself!  And by the way, if the IRONY of this next quote doesn't hit you immediately, please let me know!

Mark 12:24 - Jesus answered and said to them, "Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God?"

Exactly what Scriptures was Jesus talking about?  Was He talking about the book of Mark?  Impossible, it hadn't been written yet.  Was He talking about the rest of the New Testament?  Nope, none of the New Testament had been written yet.  Jesus was talking about SCRIPTURES, meaning every single thing contained in the bible.  What we have today, regardless of what the "scholars" would argue, are the 66 books of the bible that we reply upon, depend upon and indeed TRUST WITH OUR LIVES.

Anyone who would try to convince you that Jesus had to have said/done something in order for it to be true or important, is fooling you big time!  Who spoke the 10 commandments?  Was it Jesus?  Who created Jesus?  Was it Jesus?  See where I'm going here?  All of Scripture is what we call "God breathed".  Just as God BREATHED the universe into existence, we also know that God also breathed every single word contained in Scripture.  If you don't believe this extremely simple, basic & fundamental teaching, then you can rest assured, you're not a Christian.

Why would they try to deceive you with this false teaching?  SIMPLE!  They want you to doubt, question and lose trust in the thing that they hate most.  GOD!  They want to discredit and muddy THE BIBLE.  They want a way for their sick and disgusting ways of life to be acceptable in your eyes.  They want to try to make it impossible for you to believe anything you read, anything you hear and anything that you learn.  WHY?  That's been Satan's job since the garden!  Here's something else Jesus said:

John 10:10 - The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

If you read that entire passage, you will know with 100% certainty that the "thief" Jesus is talking about is IN FACT Lucifer.  He will do whatever is necessary in order to deceive you, manipulate you and fool you into thinking something other than what is true.  The sad part, since most "Christians" are very weak in their Bible knowledge, fooling them is extremely easy.  And believe me when I say that it doesn't matter how smart you are, what your IQ is, or what you do for a living.  If you don't know WHAT GOD HAS TO SAY ON A MATTER, then what you "think in your own mind" is probably not the same.

Isaiah 55:8 - "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD."

This is why I warn you each and every day that I am alive, to be VERY CAREFUL of where you get your information from.  Chances are you're getting a full dose of ear-tickling nonsense daily!
