Gay Pride - Oxy-Moron or Perfect Description?

I've been teaching many of the individuals that I've been discipling, that MANY WORDS have had their meanings changed over the years.  Some simple, non-biblical words that have been changed would include: COOL means NICE, BAD means GOOD, FAT now means PRETTY (even though they use a PH to spell it), DOPE means SMART (as in looking smart), TIGHT means COOL, FINE means HOT, etc. (oy, what a mess we've allowed our language to become!)

So let's look at this so-called "gay pride" and let's keep it Biblical...

Gay - According to the 1828 Webster's Dictionary, the word gay used to mean "Merry; airy; jovial; sportive; frolicksome. It denotes more life and animation than cheerful."  I've yet to meet a homosexual person that mimics that definition.  Clearly that's a misnomer, inasmuch as "bad" does not mean "good".  "Merry" can indeed be found in the Bible.  Feel free to look it up for yourself, but I can assure you, there's nothing homosexual about it.

Pride - This is one of those interesting words.  Don't you know that PRIDE was the thing that got Lucifer kicked out of Heaven AND God's good graces? (see Ezekiel 28:11-19)  Taking a look at the 1828 Webster's helps us to find that (not surprisingly), pride means, "1. Inordinate self-esteem; an unreasonable conceit of one's own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, accomplishments, rank or elevation in office, which manifests itself in lofty airs, distance, reserve, and often in contempt of others. 2. Insolence; rude treatment of others; insolent exultation."

Woah, looks like both of those definitions for "pride" describe the homosexual community even better than the word "gay" does.  Imagine that... (hey, I'm not passing judgment, I'm just calling it out for what it is)

I once read something that said, "The ones who complain the loudest are closet homosexuals".  First of all, I'm not complaining AND I'm not "homophobic", lol!  You go ahead and BE as gay "as you wanna be".  What you choose to do with your parts is of no concern of mine.  It's when you try to normalize your behavior, convince the unwitting that you deserve "special rights", convince nominal Christians that "God likes the homosexual practices" and also poisoning the minds of our youth through the media, is when I get upset about it.

So what's the point of this post?

Being "gay" and performing homosexual acts is not only something to not take pride in, but most certainly does not FIT into the realm of Christianity.  If you're a practicing homosexual or a supporter, quit trying to convince yourself that it does...  God says otherwise...

Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming post that discusses this issue/problem in more detail...

(Yes, I know Oxymoron is spelled incorrectly in the title.  It was my attempt at highlighting the moronic/ironic use of the words)
