Pastor Keith Says #1

About 6 zillion times a year someone says to me, "Look Pastor Keith, I know you like to say what the Bible says about things, but I want to know what PASTOR KEITH says about things!  Don't you have any thoughts or opinions of your own???"  While I of course have thoughts and opinions of my own, these people have SO missed the point that it's sad.

Think about this for a moment.  A history teacher walks into the room and begins by saying, "It doesn't say this anywhere in the history books, but I know for CERTAIN that what I'm about to teach you is true."  Are you scared yet?  How about if a Pastor begins the days preaching with, "Now it doesn't say this anywhere in the Bible, but believe me when I tell you that the spirit has revealed these things to me!"  About now you should be running for the doors!  If someone attempts to teach you something that IS NOT and CAN NOT be found ANYWHERE in the Bible, run, Run, RUN!

With that said, even though I recognize that compared to God, that I really know very little, sometimes I like to think that I come up with some pretty sound advice.  And as with most things, you get what you pay for, so if you don't like these musings I'll share with you, please feel free to return them for a full refund!  :P

Pastor Keith says, "On your deathbed, it's better to regret the things that you didn't do, rather than the things that you did do.  The things not done were not consequential, merely things that you would have enjoyed in the flesh!  The things that were done, are things that were not only consequential, but will weigh heavily on your mind, your heart and in your spirit.  If you are presented with an opportunity to do something and you can't find any way for that something to bring Glory to God, then you probably shouldn't be doing it in the first place.

And that reminds me.  I'm not actually suggesting that you have ANY regrets at all, but suffice it to say that without some regret, there can be no repentance to begin with.

So that's my first "Pastor Keith Says".
I would hope that I gave you something to remember and something to pass along.

As always, please feel free to leave your comments or suggestions below.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil ...

So let me see if I've got this straight?

Patriotism is bad but Islamism is good.
Christianity is bad but Homosexuality is good.
Jews are bad but Hamas and Hezbollah are good.
Immigration and Customs is bad but Human Trafficking is good.
President Trump is bad but the likes of Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Cory Booker, Keith Ellison and Kamala Harris are good.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is bad but Louis Farrakhan is good.
Law abiding White People are bad but Black criminals are good.
Guns for protection are bad but legalizing recreational marijuana to get high is good.
Building a wall to protect the United States is bad but the Great Wall of China is good.
Upholding and Protecting the US Constitution is bad but a One World Government is good.
Wealthy people who worked hard for what they have are bad but people who refuse to work and want welfare are good.
Standing up for Liberty and Freedom is bad but deleting 30,000 emails is good.
Hiring Loyal and Trustworthy people is bad but reporting things in the media that aren't true is good.

Isaiah 5:20,24 - Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, And the flame consumes the chaff, So their root will be as rottenness, And their blossom will ascend like dust; Because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Back in the 1820's a man by the name of Albert Barnes wrote this about that passage:

The sin which is reprobated here is that of “perverting and confounding” things, especially the distinctions of morality and religion. They prefer erroneous and fake doctrines to the true; they prefer an evil to an upright course of conduct.

“Darkness” in the Scriptures, is the emblem of ignorance, error, false doctrine, crime. Light denotes truth, knowledge, piety.

“Bitter and bitterness” are often used to denote “sin;” see the note at Acts 8:23; also Romans 3:14; Ephesians 4:31; Hebrews 12:15; Jeremiah 2:19; Jeremiah 4:18. The meaning here does not differ from that expressed in the other parts of the verse, except that there is “implied” the additional idea that sin “is” bitter; and that virtue, or holiness, is sweet: that is, that the one is attended with painful consequences, and the other with pleasure.

Taken from Albert Barnes "Commentary on Isaiah 5:20".
"Barnes' Notes on the New Testament".

This is Biblical Prophesy being unfolded right before our eyes.
Sure, people have always looked to justify their filth, but what's happening today is ridiculous.

Did I leave something out???
Let me know in the comments!
If it's good I'll add it to the list! (or is it bad?)  :P

As always, please feel free to leave your comments, but keep them family friendly.
Also, please feel free to share anything you see here.

The Bible Reads Like a Children's Book! - Or does it?

Sometimes I get happy questions, sometimes I get angry questions and sometimes I get challenging questions like this one I have for you today.  I call it "challenging", because it challenges me to explain something that I didn't think needed any explanation.

Question: Pastor Keith, I've been listening to your "Biblically Speaking" shows and all throughout them you keep saying over and over "If you take the Bible for what it says, it reads like a children's book!".  I don't know why you say this, because I need someone to interpret so much of it for me because it's very hard to understand.  Why do you say this when it isn't true?

Answer: Ah-ha!  (I love saying Ah-ha!)  Let me to try to explain.

Rabbi Loren Jacobs - You Do Not Stand Alone

Since I'm sure that the majority of my readers/followers won't know who Rabbi Loren Jacobs is (or why I'm writing about him), allow me to briefly explain.

Without going into excessive detail, recently, Rabbi Jacobs (who happens to be a Messianic Jew), was called upon to give a prayer in reference to the killings at the Tree of Life Jewish Synagogue in Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania.  Please listen to his prayers HERE.

Husband of One Wife - Some Facts

Have you ever been reading through the Bible and come across something that made you giggle?

What a weird thing to read, "husband of one wife".  Well of course you'd be the husband of ONE wife!  What a preposterous thing.  Right?

Well.........
Let's talk about that for a moment....

Jesus Only Movement - aka Jesuism / Jesusism / Jesuanism

Please forgive me.

Sometimes it takes me a while to figure out WHAT exactly is going on.
And by "what", I also mean WHY is it happening.  Allow me to explain....

For the past few years I've been hearing (OFTEN) "Jesus never said.....".  And what He "never said" is a long laundry list of things including:
  • "Jesus never said that gay marriage was wrong"
  • "Jesus never said that doing drugs was bad"
  • "Jesus never said anything about giving to the church" (this one is rare)
  • "Jesus never said anything about women pastors teaching men"

Men & Women - Equality Conversation Ends Now

The liberals across the land (all lands, liberalism seems to know no borders), have hijacked Jesus and the Bible and they keep trying to make God say things that He never said, that He never meant & that He never intended for you to believe.  But false teachers continue to pop up everywhere, trying to make sure that they say things that make you happy, so you'll keep giving them your hard earned cash.  It reminds me of an organ grinder and his monkey.  The more tricks the monkey does, the happier you feel, the more you're entertained, the more you'll tip him.

So let's go over some things that we can easily find in the bible first:

Hey Pastor Keith - Where are you?

LOL....

I got a message today from a young man who has been reading and listening to both this Blog and the Radio Show and he wanted to know why he hasn't seen anything from me yet this year.

Fact is, if God isn't leading me to write something here, I really, Really, REALLY try to keep my fingers in my pockets!  It's hard I tell you!

I've had a couple of really interesting ideas rattling around inside of my head lately, maybe I'll get the go-ahead on one of them soon!

In other news:
  • I'm still searching for an Apologist
  • I'm still wanting to start up the NEXT season of the show
  • I'm still desiring to release the book
  • I'm still desiring to find a church that needs me
  • I'm still keeping it real, as it's all I know!
Hopefully that should fill in all of the blanks until my next post!

Until then, please keep reading your Bible, please keep the questions coming and PLEASE keep active in your prayer life.  Failing to keep God at the forefront of your mind, only pushes Him into the back of it.

Bible Nuggets 4 - Works without Faith

Today's question is so preposterous that my head almost popped off!  Let's see if you can see what's wrong with this question before you read my response...

Question:  Pastor Keith, I believe that works are SO ESSENTIAL to our walk with Christ that I can't think about anything else.  All I want to do is feed the hungry, give a cool drink of water to anyone who is thirsty, clothe the poor, visit those in prison, tend to widows, fight for social justice, and pretty much just get involved and do anything I can to help those who are so marginalized that I need to do something or I tend to lose sleep over it!  What more can I do?

Answer: Whew.....

Presbyterians - Leave NOW before it's too late!

Some people have erected walls so high, that they might even attempt to keep God Himself out.  Sometimes simply trying to speak with people, who without doing any research, any study or any reading of the Bible themselves, they decide upon some things that they won't be moved on.

50% of my ministry work is dedicated to correcting false teachings and the other 50% is to help people to better understand WHO God is and HOW to develop intimacy with Him.  As such, I am constantly teaching people WHY religion is no way to get closer to God.

Let's take a brief look at WHY:

Tithing - The Lies Stop Here!

You may think that the title of this particular teaching is too much, but what's really gone overboard are the Pastors out there who teach such nonsense about tithing (giving to God)!

Today's question comes from a woman who has found herself GROWING in the Lord! (and quite by surprise)

Question: Pastor Keith, my whole life I've heard about tithing and why it's so important, but recently some things have occurred to me that never did before.  I know that I'm supposed to give 10%, but 10% of WHAT?  Is it 10% of my net income?  Is it 10% of my gross income?  Is it just 10% of my main income or am I supposed to include 10% of my bank account and 10% of my secondary income and 10% of my gifts too???  I find myself feeling guilty all the time, because lately when I listen to the Pastor of my church, it feels like I'm expected to be giving away everything!  Can you help?

Answer: Sister.... YES I CAN!  :)

Mohammed - Prophet or Pervert?

To those of you who have been following me, you know that it's my "mission" to correct false, untrue, made-up, make-believe and otherwise insane or ridiculous teachings that have infected Christianity.

False teachings which include, but are not limited to:
  • Strictly following the 10 Commandments makes God happy
  • Speaking in false-tongues shows that you are truly saved
  • The more you give to your church, the more you'll be rewarded with cool stuff
  • There is no Hell (lol, sinners could only wish!)
  • The KJV is the only perfect Bible (lol, it's full of translation errors)
  • Pastors are always supposed to be happy and make you smile (because they're robots)
  • If you dream it, you can achieve it (dear Lord, that's Amway!)
  • The Bible says something different to each one of us (whew)
  • Homosexual "love" is love perfected by God (???)
  • God says we all go to Heaven (yeah, I know...)
  • Jesus and Satan are brothers and God is from another planet (seriously Mormons?)

The Nashville Statement - A Coalition for Biblical Sexuality

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Silverworks Ministries would like to announce that it finds the newly released "Nashville Statement - A Coalition for Biblical Sexuality" in line with its own teachings and Pastor Keith would like it known that he'd be humbled and honored to offer his signature as well.

From Pastor Keith, "The Nashville Statement is a well timed, well written and Biblically accurate document, intended to draw the support of those who accept God and the Bible exactly the way that they are, and further intended to draw sharp rebuke, disdain and loathing from those who are so outside of God's good and perfect will, that once they speak out against it, it will become clear as to whom is following the God of the Bible and who is bringing the 'strange fire'."

How can I know that we're *REALLY* in the last days?

Question: Pastor Keith, I've heard it my entire life that "We are in the last days, repent now, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!".  To be honest, I'm quite tired of hearing it and I just don't believe it.  Too many years of "Chicken Little" have soured me on the whole idea.  Can you offer me any proof or any persuasion at all, that the "last days" are really here?

Answer: Oh yes I can!

Why I use the methods that I use

There are some Pastors who are so concerned that they'll offend someone, that they water down the truth, withhold information and sometimes just plain LIE about a subject.  I sincerely feel bad for anyone who wastes their time with a person like that.

I'm going to spend a couple of minutes and explain to you WHY I do what I do....

Replenish the earth?

I haven't done this in a while, so it should be fun!

Every now and then I have people ask me questions that make me go "Ah-ha!".
I love those kinds of questions and I have one today.

Question: Why did God tell Adam and Eve to replenish the Earth?  If God had just created the Earth, isn't it safe to say that it was never "plenished" to begin with?  Obviously this proves that there were people before Adam and Eve, right?

Answer: Man oh man... Is Satan ever alive and well and filling the minds of the lost and unsaved with nonsense!  The good news, is the devil isn't learning any new tricks.  True, he may gain a soul here or there, but we all know he can never win!  :)

Bible Nuggets 3 - Be of Good Cheer!

Did you ever notice that Jesus only ever said "Be of good cheer" when he was saving someones life?

Up to and including mentioning our redemption in John 16:33?
I literally just noticed it myself.

The only reference to "Be of good cheer" that doesn't fit is Acts 23:11 when Jesus was witnessed speaking to Paul.  Hmm... You know what?  I bet that was Jesus way of telling Paul that He wouldn't let the Jews who banded together kill him?  LOL....

I joke all the time that "the Bible is an inexhaustible supply of revelation and information".
Who knew?!  ;)

Starting a new church?

Anyone who has been following me, either here on this blog or in the flesh can tell you in no uncertain terms, that I am (justifiably) sick, tired and disgusted by almost every single church/denomination in existence.

Why could I possibly be sick, tired and disgusted?  Let's start with false teachings, fleecing, poor teachings, poor understandings, altar calls & false tongue speaking, just as an example.

For years I've been told over and over again to start my own church, but as with all things, if I don't feel lead to do something by God, I'm not doing it.  For proof of that, I still have not released my book yet.

So with that said, I'm putting together this blog post in an attempt to help you decide whether or not a church that I would set up, would be more in line with what YOU believe to be TRUE and not what some wayward soul, who only wants your money would set up.

Please take a moment and ponder these statements:
