Bible Nuggets 4 - Works without Faith

Today's question is so preposterous that my head almost popped off!  Let's see if you can see what's wrong with this question before you read my response...

Question:  Pastor Keith, I believe that works are SO ESSENTIAL to our walk with Christ that I can't think about anything else.  All I want to do is feed the hungry, give a cool drink of water to anyone who is thirsty, clothe the poor, visit those in prison, tend to widows, fight for social justice, and pretty much just get involved and do anything I can to help those who are so marginalized that I need to do something or I tend to lose sleep over it!  What more can I do?

Answer: Whew.....

I want to ask anyone reading this a question....
Do you see the problem with this question yet?

"I believe"
"I can't"
"I want"
"I can"
"I need"
"I tend"
"I do"

Like so many other "christians" I meet from day to day, the person asking this question has a case of what I like to call "the me-me's".  The me-me's is a disease that many false, lost or confused christians suffer from that is so debilitating, that indeed, as you can see from their question, that this person is "losing sleep"!

So what's wrong with their question?  If you really don't know yet, I'm going to tell you now, but please keep something in mind.  When Jesus discusses this EXACT problem in Scripture, you can FEEL His consternation.  The people He was speaking to just couldn't wrap their minds around something that was so simple.  I'll give you the Scripture and then I'll explain it.

John 5:39-47 - You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. I do not receive honor from men. But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you --- Moses, in whom you trust. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?

Jesus says, "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me".  What that means, is you read the Bible, looking for WHAT YOU CAN DO, but Jesus is saying "STOP: YOU'RE MISSING THE POINT!  THAT IS NOT WHAT THE BIBLE IS FOR!  THE BIBLE IS THE LIVING WORD THAT TESTIFIES THAT I AM GOD!"

Jesus goes on to say, "But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life."  What a profound statement!  Jesus is saying, "YOU ARE SO BUSY WORRYING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE GOING TO MISS OUT ON HEAVEN!"

Jesus continues, "I do not receive honor from men. But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?"  What Jesus is saying here is, "YOU CAN'T GIVE ME HONOR, HONOR COMES FROM GOD.  I KNOW YOU INSIDE AND OUT, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE LOVE OF GOD IN YOU.  I CAME IN MY FATHERS NAME AND INSTEAD OF READING MY WORDS AND REALIZING WHAT THEY ARE FOR, YOU INTERNALIZE THEM, MAKE THEM ABOUT YOURSELF AND WOULD SOONER GIVE HONOR AMONGST YOURSELVES IN WHAT THINGS YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH WITHOUT ME."

Jesus ends with a very specific slap in the face to the Jews who are listening to them by saying, "Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you --- Moses, in whom you trust. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"  What Jesus is saying here is, "DON'T WORRY, I'M NOT GOING TO GET YOU INTO TROUBLE IN HEAVEN.  YOU FOREVER SAY HOW MUCH YOU TRUST WHAT MOSES HAD TO SAY, BUT MOSES LOVED ME, KNEW ME & WROTE ABOUT ME.  IF YOU WON'T BELIEVE HIS WORDS, HOW WILL YOU EVER BELIEVE MINE?

I'm writing in caps, because let's face it, Jesus was NOT being polite, He wasn't being diplomatic and He wasn't trying to be politically correct.  Jesus was knee deep in the muck, trying His level best to get His point across to people who just didn't get it.  They CLAIMED TO get it, but they didn't.

Another piece of Scripture we can turn to, in order to see that works are NOT the single most important part of your existence on Earth can be found in Paul's writings...

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

God is letting us know in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that we are saved BECAUSE OF OUR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST!  That we play NO PART in our salvation, IT IS A GIFT OF GOD!

Wait a minute Pastor Keith.... Are you saying I shouldn't be feeding the hungry, giving a cool drink of water to anyone who is thirsty, clothing the poor, visit those who are in prison, tend to the widows, fight for social justice, and pretty much just get involved and do anything I can to help those who are so marginalized?  NO.  That is NOT what I'm saying.

Listen, except for the whole social justice thing (which is NOT Biblical), all of those things are fine to do..... AS LONG AS YOU ARE BEING LEAD BY THE HOLY SPIRIT TO DO THEM.  Believe me when I tell you that THE BIBLE IS NOT A BOOK FOR YOU TO USE AS A CHECKLIST OF HOW TO BE IN GODS GOOD GRACES.  Again, Jesus said, "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me."  Some people say that the Bible is confusing, but I will tell you that that small sentence is so clear and so easy to understand, that you can not misunderstand it once you read it.  99% of the things that you believe are CALLS TO GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING, are in fact FIGURES OF SPEECH, just things that God used to try to get points across to us.  The Bible is full of ANALOGIES, SIMILES, METAPHORS, METONOMYS, SYNECDOCHES, PERSONIFICATIONS, IRONIES, ANTHROPOMORPHISMS, APOSTROPHES, HYPERBOLES, EUPHEMISMS, LITOTES, PLEONASMS, REPETITIONS, CLIMAXES, ELLIPSISES, ZEUGMAS, APOSIOPESIS, PARABLES, ALLEGORIES, RIDDLES, FABLES, SYMBOLS, TYPES, NARRATIVES, PARALLELISM, POETRY, ORATORY - And many more types of figures of speech!  No, I don't expect you to go out and become a PhD in English Literature in order to learn all of the different types of figures of speech, but please try to understand that sometimes things are more than they seem.  Just like you thinking that Jesus is calling all of Christianity to feed the hungry, when what He's really doing, is trying to teach you something more about HIM.

Matthew 4:4 - But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' "

Instead of being so concerned about "what you can do", you should be more concerned about developing intimacy with God, Discipleship or even your prayer life.  Believe me when I tell you that a broken or non-existent prayer life or a lack of intimacy is a much, much bigger problem than clothing the poor.

James the brother of Jesus wrote:

James 2:26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

It's much easier for many to call out that verse than to ALSO understand that their works without GOD is also dead.

Presbyterians - Leave NOW before it's too late!

Some people have erected walls so high, that they might even attempt to keep God Himself out.  Sometimes simply trying to speak with people, who without doing any research, any study or any reading of the Bible themselves, they decide upon some things that they won't be moved on.

50% of my ministry work is dedicated to correcting false teachings and the other 50% is to help people to better understand WHO God is and HOW to develop intimacy with Him.  As such, I am constantly teaching people WHY religion is no way to get closer to God.

Let's take a brief look at WHY:
  • Catholicism - When the people don't agree with the Bible, they turn to the Pope to change their understanding of it, Jesus tells us to call no one "father" except for our Father in Heaven, yet Catholics call their own priests "father", they worship statues, yet the 10 commandments contain pretty clear warnings AGAINST doing so, they partake of bread and wine during a communion service, which would be fine, except they believe that the bread LITERALLY turns into the FLESH of Jesus and that the wine LITERALLY becomes the BLOOD of Jesus.  If all these are not enough, there are 1,000's of articles written about this subject on the internet.

  • Pentecostalism - The Pentecostal church (and all of its derivatives) have created one of the best business models in "religion" and have come up with the perfect "system" in order to "prove" WHO is actually saved or not.  If chicken feathers up a Pastors sleeves or glitter on their skin isn't enough to make you cringe, how about fleecing the flock for all its worth, in order to get as much money out of your pockets as possible?  The "abundant life theology" is one of their inventions and is PURE NONSENSE (John 10 & John 3 completely debunk this false teaching).  If that's not enough, how about speaking in "FALSE TONGUES", which they call a "dialect of angels" in order to prove that you've been "baptized by the Holy Spirit" (1 Corinthians 14 completely debunks these false tongues).  These folks really get my blood boiling!

  • Mormonism (LDS) - First of all, this isn't even a "Christian" religion.  Sure, Jesus is somehow, in a secondary role, involved in their teachings, but seriously, any time spent researching this cult will immediately turn up things such as "Jesus and Satan are really spirit brothers and God is really an Alien from another planet!".  If that isn't enough to make you squint your eyes and cringe, then spend a few minutes searching online and you'll find 100's of things about the Mormons (LDS) to help you understand why this religion is dangerous.

  • Episcopalian - There used to be a time in this country, where the Episcopal church was right up there with the Catcholics, Baptists, Methodists & Lutherans.  These days, the Episcopals have lost their minds and done some VERY peculiar and UNCHRISTIAN things.  With church membership falling and monthly gift giving drying up, the Episcopals had little choice but to reach out to the single most marginalized "people" in the country.  Almost overnight they became the "Gay church".  This of course forced out 80% of their existing members.  Not only did they encourage and teach why God was OK with Homosexuality, but they began to recruit gay priests.  And then to add insult to injury, they started to recruit and select lesbian bishops!  I seem to remember something in scripture about women not teaching men, but oh well, what can I do?
Of course, I could go on and on and on and on and on and on, but with 38,000 christian-based denominations in the world (each one, its own religion), I'd get tired and run out of skin on my fingertips way before I made it half-way through.

Today, I would like to alert you all to the next in the great line, in the succession and march towards THE GREAT APOSTASY.  For those of you who don't know what this is, this is one of the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS THAT MUST HAPPEN, in order that Christ returns!

2 Thessalonians 2:1-5 - Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

Poor Paul...  I know too well how he must have felt when he writes that last sentence.  We love the Lord so much and want to share all that we know with whomever will listen.  Sometimes we share so much that our listeners can't grasp it all!

In any event, The Catholics, Pentecostals, Episcopals, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, Shakers, Quakers, Jehovas Witnesses & all the rest can now welcome the Presbyterian church into their ranks.

According to the Christian Post, "Leader of the second largest congregation in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Rev. Shannon Johnson Kershner has declared that Christianity is not the only way to heaven.  Kershner, 45, who leads the 5,500-member Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois, expressed her belief in a podcast with the Chicago Sun-Times after she was asked the question "Is Christianity the only way to heaven?"  "No," Kershner replied bluntly."  And to add insult to injury, Kershner goes on to say, "...I'm not about to say what God can and cannot do in other ways and with other spiritual experiences," she explained."

Ok, so she won't commit.  She's not willing to say "what God can and cannot do in other ways and with other spiritual experiences", BUT JESUS DID!  LET'S SEE WHAT HE HAS TO SAY...

John 14:1-6  - "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know." Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me".

Got it Shannon?

How can the leader of the "second largest congregation" be so bankrupt as to not have a CLUE, as to something that is absolutely FOUNDATIONAL to CHRISTIANITY????  If you take that away, what's left?  CONFUSION!  Hey, wait a minute... Who's the author of confusion?

1 Corinthians 14:33 - For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Satan is not only the source of all conflicts and rebellions, but he is indeed the author of confusion.

If you or someone you love is a Presbyterian, please let them know about this website.  We're here to help anyone overcome ALL OF IT.  We're ready to help anyone who sincerely wants it.  Remember, God says that it's His wish that NONE should perish!  I will spend my dying breath trying to help anyone who will listen.

Romans 12:21 - Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

God tells us to LOOK UP when these things happen!
You keep looking up, I'll keep you on the straight and narrow!

Remember... Keep it clean!  ;)

Tithing - The Lies Stop Here!

You may think that the title of this particular teaching is too much, but what's really gone overboard are the Pastors out there who teach such nonsense about tithing (giving to God)!

Today's question comes from a woman who has found herself  GROWING in the Lord! (and quite by surprise)

Question: Pastor Keith, my whole life I've heard about tithing and why it's so important, but recently some things have occurred to me that never did before.  I know that I'm supposed to give 10%, but 10% of WHAT?  Is it 10% of my net income?  Is it 10% of my gross income?  Is it just 10% of my main income or am I supposed to include 10% of my bank account and 10% of my secondary income and 10% of my gifts too???  I find myself feeling guilty all the time, because lately when I listen to the Pastor of my church, it feels like I'm expected to be giving away everything!  Can you help?

Answer: Sister.... YES I CAN!  :)

In the Old Testament, we learn about tithing (giving to God) in the very first book of Genesis.  As you reach chapter 4, you discover the very first offerings made to God.  Cain and Abel (Adam and Eve's first 2 sons), we're told that Abel gave of his flock of sheep and Cain gave of his crops.  And as most of us learned in Sunday School, God accepted Abel's offering, rejected Cain's offering and the next thing you know, Cain kills Abel and tries to cover it up.  While it's a little off subject, I'm often asked WHY Cain killed Abel.  As Jesus says, John 5:39 - You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.  Since Genesis, we learn (in many ways) that Jesus has been here since the very foundation of the universe.  As such, it's important to note that God never contradicts Himself, never corrects Himself & doesn't need to switch things up, just so they continue to make sense.  What that story in Genesis 4 teaches us, is that since the beginning, A SACRIFICE OF BLOOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN REQUIRED BY GOD, in order for God to forgive us of our sin.  Simply offering fruits or vegetables won't cut it.

As for the biblical principles of giving to God, as you read through scripture, you'll come across the book of Leviticus.  That entire book is devoted to explaining Levitical Law, which is basically a code of legal and moral practices - FOR THE JEWS.  In it, we can read about the expectations that were put on the Jewish people, as far as tithing is concerned.  (pay VERY close attention to the last sentence!)

Leviticus 27:32-34 - And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD. He shall not inquire whether it is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it; and if he exchanges it at all, then both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.' " These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.

As I always like to remind everyone, the 3 C's of reading the Bible are ESSENTIAL if you ever want to fully understand what you're reading.  What are the 3 C's?  Context, context, context!  You take the verse you're reading and put it into context with the chapter you're reading.  Then you take the chapter you're reading and put it into context with the book that you're reading.  And finally, you take the book you're reading and put it into context with the entirety of the Bible - Then and ONLY THEN can you have confidence that you've read and understood things correctly.

As you read the above passage, verse 34 makes it crystal clear that this was what the Lord commanded for Moses and the children of Israel to do - NOT THE CHRISTIANS.  But of course, that hasn't stopped wayward Pastors, Ministers, Priests & Reverends from using that scripture out of context for CENTURIES!  Simply reading those 3 verses without interpreting or twisting them around gives us 100% certainty that we've understood it AS GOD INTENDED US TO.

So where's the answer to the original question???

Paul has a way with words, so much so, that I couldn't explain this any better:

2 Corinthians 9:7 - So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Do you see what is going on here?  Paul is telling us to give whatever amount that you can CHEERFULLY give.  How much is that?  I can't say.  Paul tells us to "give as you purpose in your heart", meaning, if you're unhappy, feel obligated, forced or expected to give something, then you shouldn't give it.  In all that you give, you should remember that WHATEVER you give, should be SEEN AS and indeed TREATED AS giving to God Himself.  Remember, if God is our provider and if all that we have is received FROM HIM to begin with, then we are really just giving God back something that he shared with us to begin with!

For those of you who need a more specific answer to help you decide how much you should give, allow me to offer you this advice.  Instead of figuring out percentages and hard figures, sit down and look at how much you actually get to keep every month (from all sources) and how much you spend every month (including rent, phone, electric, water, etc) and see how much you have left over.  Take some of that and put it aside for a rainy day and give the rest as you see fit.  Which by the way, fits nicely into the passage above from Leviticus.  God never, ever implied that you should give all that you have, all the time, without ceasing.  God never intended for you to go hungry, just so that your Pastor could go out and buy a mansion and a new Mercedes and new suits, watches and other nonsense.  All the way back in Leviticus, God told the Jews that they should give the LAST TENTH, not the first 10th.  God has always wanted to make sure that HIS are taken care of!

Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Of course that naturally leads us to one last facet of this issue.  People want to know WHO they should give this money to.  Should it go to their church ONLY?  Should it go MANY different places?  The only advice I can give you here, is you should only give WHAT GOD PUTS ON YOUR HEART TO GIVE.  You should divide it as you feel LEAD TO GIVE IT.  There are countless homeless shelters, battered women's shelters, prison ministries & a multitude of other Christian charities that would be truly grateful to receive what you would give to God.  But please, whatever you do, never let ANYONE manipulate you or otherwise convince you to give that offering ANYWHERE that you don't feel lead (by the Holy Spirit) to give it.

So that's it, that's my basic teaching on tithing / giving to God.  If you spend the time and read your bible like you should, you will uncover much, Much, MUCH more about this subject.

If you have any questions or comments about this, please feel free to leave your comments below!

Mohammed - Prophet or Pervert?

To those of you who have been following me, you know that it's my "mission" to correct false, untrue, made-up, make-believe and otherwise insane or ridiculous teachings that have infected Christianity.

False teachings which include, but are not limited to:
  • Strictly following the 10 Commandments makes God happy
  • Speaking in false-tongues shows that you are truly saved
  • The more you give to your church, the more you'll be rewarded with cool stuff
  • There is no Hell (lol, sinners could only wish!)
  • The KJV is the only perfect Bible (lol, it's full of translation errors)
  • Pastors are always supposed to be happy and make you smile (because they're robots)
  • If you dream it, you can achieve it (dear Lord, that's Amway!)
  • The Bible says something different to each one of us (whew)
  • Homosexual "love" is love perfected by God (???)
  • God says we all go to Heaven (yeah, I know...)
  • Jesus and Satan are brothers and God is from another planet (seriously Mormons?)
But sometimes people send me things and it makes me want to shine a light on some of the insanity that Religion brings to people.  Now be warned, some people out there will consider telling you the truth in such an obvious way, without coloring it or making it seem different than it is, would be considered blatant hate-speech.  This is nothing of the sort!  If truth is hateful, then what is lying?  Love?  Anyway, in today's example, not just a few people believe this insanity, but more than 1.6 Billion people!

Every Muslim man has the dream, that their sons should be as "holy" and "pious" as Mohammed, but at the center of the "religion of peace", you will find a whole host of insane concepts that all true Muslims have been taught to respect and indeed attempt to carry out in their own lives.

Anyway, according to the books that Muslims use to learn from and enhance and increase their faith, we come to learn that Mohammed took a "wife" of a young girl named Aisha.  The general public will tell you that Aisha was a ripe and mature 9 YEARS OLD when Mohammed married her, but if you do just a tiny amount of reading, you'll find out that she was really only 6 YEARS OLD! (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234 and 236) Apparently, it's a Muslim tradition that a girl can not get "officially married" unless and until she has had her first period.  Because as everyone knows, the love of a 53 year old man and a 6 YEAR OLD GIRL would be beautiful in the eyes of God, RIGHT?  No... Not right.  In our society we call it RAPE, as a 6 year old (or even a 9 year old) is not capable of CONSENTING to anything.

If you'd like to fool yourself into thinking that this no longer happens in predominantly Muslim countries, you're only fooling yourself.  When radical Islamist groups that promote terror tell us that they hate Western values, is it any wonder, especially when they would have to stop their unconscionable acts towards each other?

Remember one thing about what I've just shared with you, this example of insanity isn't something that "crept into" Islam, it's part and parcel a foundational piece of it!

So when you hear the liberals and new agers begging everyone to "agree to disagree" or to "just get along" or "why can't we just respect one another?", how can you agree with, get along with or even RESPECT someone who thinks it's okay to RAPE 9 year old girls?  There is NO WAY to make this behavior or thinking into something that is POLITICALLY CORRECT.  If Mohammed was around today, if he wasn't already dead, he'd be on death row awaiting either the electric chair or a lethal injection.  How anyone (much less 1.6 Billion Muslims) could love and revere this rapist, is one of the best representations that I can think of, about how RELIGION is nobody's friend.

To anyone who thinks that Satan isn't real or that he never walks among us, take a good hard look at Mohammed.  As a matter of fact, Satan was so proud of his "great works" that he wrote a book all about it!  It doesn't sell as many copies as the Bible does, but Satan does alright.  The name of the book?  "The Qur'an" of course.

1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Job 1:7 - And the LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?" So Satan answered the LORD and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it."

You know what to do! (just keep them clean, this is a family oriented Blog)

The Nashville Statement - A Coalition for Biblical Sexuality

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Silverworks Ministries would like to announce that it finds the newly released "Nashville Statement - A Coalition for Biblical Sexuality" in line with its own teachings and Pastor Keith would like it known that he'd be humbled and honored to offer his signature as well.

From Pastor Keith, "The Nashville Statement is a well timed, well written and Biblically accurate document, intended to draw the support of those who accept God and the Bible exactly the way that they are, and further intended to draw sharp rebuke, disdain and loathing from those who are so outside of God's good and perfect will, that once they speak out against it, it will become clear as to whom is following the God of the Bible and who is bringing the 'strange fire'."

PLEASE feel free to read the Nashville Statement for yourself.  Link HERE.

For reference, I have been proclaiming most of the things found in the Nashville Statement for at least 7 years and possibly as long as 10 years.

Believe me when I tell you, the liberals will tell you that I am heartless or that I am homophobic or any other of a laundry list of slurs, in order to discredit me or make me seem like I'm crazy, evil or somehow not a Christian.  Please be aware of one simple fact, as it will help you to put things into perspective and will DRAMATICALLY help you to understand things in CONTEXT...

Don't you dare let anyone accuse you of hate speech.  If they want to level that accusation against anyone, have them level it against JESUS HIMSELF.

Matthew 10:19-20 - But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

John 15:18 - "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you."

Luke 6:22 - Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man's sake.

John 7:7 - The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

Revelation 2:25-29 - But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations --- ' He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels' --- as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." '

It's almost like Jesus knew what was going to happen... (of course He did!)

Seriously, if what I'm writing about in my Blog and what I teach in real life is somehow unbiblical, then why is Jesus going out of His way to exhort those who would follow Him?  If every word I spoke or wrote down was accepted by the world at large, then who would deliver me up?  Who would hate me?  Who would revile me?  Who would exclude me?

When I tell you the things I tell you, I don't do it to win any prizes and I certainly don't do it to be loved by the world.  I tell them to you because I love you enough to never lie to you.  I love you enough to remind you of the things that GOD SAID, not the things that will make me lots of new friends and lots of money.

Please keep it clean.

How can I know that we're *REALLY* in the last days?

Question: Pastor Keith, I've heard it my entire life that "We are in the last days, repent now, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!".  To be honest, I'm quite tired of hearing it and I just don't believe it.  Too many years of "Chicken Little" have soured me on the whole idea.  Can you offer me any proof or any persuasion at all, that the "last days" are really here?

Answer: Oh yes I can!

You know, it's interesting.... There are literally 100's of references in both the New and Old Testaments that can help us, guide us and indeed show us what we want to know about the "last days" or as some call them, "the end times".

I could do a whole study on this, it could take hours and hours and at the end, maybe you would get it and maybe I would have just talked a lot.  Instead, how about I skip ahead to the "here and now" and show you how Biblical Prophesy is literally happening all around us, AT THIS VERY MOMENT!

Paul's letters to both Titus and Timothy are referred to as the "Pastoral Epistles", meaning that they were letters Paul sent to them, to teach them how to better Sheppard the flock.  Paul offers us something that is so REAL and so SHOCKINGLY simple and obvious, that we really can't compare this Prophesy to any other time in human history.

I'll give you the scripture and then I'll break it down for you:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 - But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
  1. Perilous Times - Google defines "peril" as: serious and immediate danger.  If you turn on the news, not only is the world at peril of the leader of North Korea with his ICBM's tipped with Nuclear warheads, not only is the world at peril of the Islamic leadership of Iran with their Nuclear warheads, not only is the world at peril from the Islamic State with their constant and barbaric Terrorist Attacks all over the world, but even our school children in many places in the world are being taught ungodly things, such as the "good' and "decent" and "loving" behavior and "rich and wonderful history" of Homosexuals.  Have you ever seen what happens when a parent tries to correct something that a child learns in school?  The parent is discredited by the teachers and made to feel and seem like a "crazy conspiracy theorist, fascist christian fundamentalist who hates everyone".  @_@???  You might think that's rare, but not at the rate that I hear about it from those who've been effected.

  2. Men will be lovers of themselves - Many Christians have been taught that this is a direct teaching against Homosexuality, but I'm not convinced of that.  I believe this is a direct commentary about the LEVEL OF selfishness and conceit that people will have for themselves in the "last days".  Let's look at some evidence: Selfies, Selfie-Sticks, VLOGS, BLOGS, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, QQ, WeChat, Google+, Instagram, Viber, Tumbler, Snapchat, Reddit, Line, Telegram, StumbleUpon, FourSquare, MeetMe, MeetUp, CafeMom, NextDoor, Vine, Classmates, Habbo, LiveJournal, YouTube, Fitbit, and about 100 more online services that ENCOURAGE YOU to become more ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME!  Some of those services even give you a percentage bar, helping you to know when you've given them every last conceivable piece of information about yourselves.  To what end?  Social networking or Attention Seeking Behavior?  People love to love themselves, instead of loving He who created them!  God tells us that we should HATE our life, in comparison to how much we love Him! (Luke 14:26)

  3. Lovers of Money - Everyone needs money to live and eat, but that's not the issue with this piece of scripture.  Paul is talking about the LOVE OF MONEY.  The non-stop, never-ending quest to have more, More, MOre, MORe & ever MORE of it.  What's the problem with having a lot of money?  There is no problem at all.  If the Lord blesses you with the money, that's great.  However, when you place the VALUE of your money as GREATER THAN the value of your relationship with God, then you have a serious problem.  In Matthew 6:24, Jesus Himself tells us that "You cannot serve God and mammon".  What's my proof that this is a problem?  Whew, where do I begin?  Churches fleecing the flock, using YouTube to try to become "viral" so they send you lots of money for doing "nothing", endless pyramid schemes, endless reseller schemes, BitCoin mining, and the list goes on and on.  People continue to create more and more of these false, meaningless and hopeless"opportunities" to try and convince the weak-minded to give them their money.

  4. Boasters - Connected VERY closely with #2 above, people love nothing more than to brag or boast about their possessions and accomplishments.  LOOK AT ME, LOOK WHAT I DID, LOOK AT HOW GREAT I AM.  Seems too many people have a case of what I call the "ME-ME's".  Definitely a variant of #2.

  5. Proud - It's one thing to be proud of your son for doing well in school, it's another thing to be so prideful that you can't even find it inside of you to apologize for the things you've done wrong to others.  There's a teaching that's been going around for the last 10 years or so that goes like this: "NO REGRETS & DON'T APOLOGIZE".  @_@???  Whew, Another variant of #2?

  6. Blasphemers - Some of you might not know this word.  Google defines "blaspheme" as: Speak irreverently about God or sacred things.  For those of you who don't know what "irreverent" means, Google defines that as: showing a lack of respect.  Summed up, it means "Speaking badly about and showing a lack of respect for God".  Hmmmm.... I wonder what proof I can find for this one?  Oh wait, I know!  90% of the people who identify as "Christians" don't pray, don't read their Bible, don't seek repentance, don't care one little bit that their life is indeed "in peril" of receiving the judgement.  Need some more?  Alright!  There have always been Pagans around, but now we have Atheists.  It's one thing to not believe in God, it's quite another to become a "Militant Atheist" and travel the world seeking to discredit the Bible and convince people to follow you instead of the One Living God.  Richard Dawkins anyone?  It takes an awful lot of #2 to achieve this.

  7. Disobedient to Parents - Throughout all of recorded history children have been disobedient to parents.  Why was this added to the list?  Because it's not about the bad behavior, it's about the LEVEL OF BAD BEHAVIOR.  Children the world over, but more specifically in the United States are learning to question their parents, judge their parents, berate their parents, discredit their parents and indeed severely rebel against their parents.  Who is teaching them this?  The parents?  Of course not!  They're being taught this by their teachers in public schools.  How can this be?  It's easy!  All you have to do as a parent, is continue electing liberals to public offices and we will continue to give children "rights and privileges" that they don't need and certainly don't deserve.  Another dose of #2 for sure.

  8. Unthankful - Never in my life have I seen more people who don't even bother to say THANK YOU when you hold the door for another person.  I went to a restaurant the other day and I gladly held the door for the family that was right behind me.  Wouldn't you know it, within seconds about 8 more families just dropped out of the sky and all continued to allow ME to continue to hold the door, as family member after family member walked by me, not one of them offered to take the door holding duty, not one of them offered me a thank you either.  Don't get me wrong, at the end of the day I don't care if those people thanked me or not, I know my thanks come from somewhere more important.  The fact that these people put their unthankful behavior on display is quite honestly appalling to me.  If they can't even be bothered to thank another person, how on Earth will they ever figure out how to thank God?  More #2 anybody?

  9. Unholy - Look, nobody walking around on the planet is "holy".  Not me, not you, not your sainted grandma, nobody.  HOWEVER, with that said, God tells us that "We are to be holy as He is holy".  What God meant (I am not making this up), is that we are to be SANCTIFIED, which really means "set apart from the world".  I cover the process of sanctification at length in my yet to be released book "But is it Biblical?".  With all of that said, depriving yourself of pleasures and acting like you're perfect are NOT what God had in mind.  It's another one of those times when having the original languages that the bible was written in can be a big help.  Fact is, never in the history of Christianity has there ever been a greater "falling away" as there is right now.  And yes, the "Great Apostasy" is what I'm referring to.

  10. Unloving - Who could possibly be unloving?  Mothers are drowning their own children!  Fathers are abandoning their children!  Not 1 or 2 or even 10 or 20, but this has become almost commonplace.  Just yesterday, it was discovered that a few young black teenagers in Florida had videotaped a man drowning in a pond while they were busy smoking marijuana.  They can be heard in the video teasing the victim, taunting him, humiliating him, all while the man screamed and pleaded for help.  Not one of them called a parent, the police, 911, nobody.  After the man stopped screaming for help and struggling to live, one of them can be heard on the video saying, "He dead", and STILL didn't call anyone for help.  They watched, they ridiculed, they laughed, they joked and they didn't care one bit that they were responsible for the man ultimately dying.  These children didn't just show that they were UNLOVING, they also showed that #2 is alive and well.  After being questioned by the police, the police revealed that not a single one of them showed ANY REMORSE OF ANY KIND.  Think I made this up?  Feel free to READ the article and watch part of the video from CNN HERE.  Talk about peril!

  11. Unforgiving - I've heard people say "Only Jesus forgives, I want them dead".  Not only is that a shocking idea, but it's far from what the Bible teaches us.  While it is true that forgiveness of our sins can ONLY come through the redemptive power of the blood of Christ, forgiving others was something Jesus Himself told us to do.  When Jesus was teaching His Apostles HOW to pray, one of the examples He gave, was "please forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us" (See Matthew 6, Mark 11 & Luke 11).  For those of you who don't know, simply put, trespass means "sin".  We are called to forgive others and to love our enemies as ourselves!  How can you call yourself a Christian if you can't forgive others of even SIMPLE things?

  12. Slanderers - If you don't know what "slander" is, Google defines it as: the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.  Anyone who has turned on the news in the last year has heard the media doing its best to slander President Trump.  He is continually accused of things that never happened.  Have you ever been asked to prove something that didn't happen????  Yeah, it's happened to me too.  It's nearly impossible.  Slander is something that is happening more and more and more these days, so much so that it's obvious it's not just your "ordinary occurrence", it's happening almost daily.

  13. Without self-control - Self control was one of the few things that atheist evolutionists say, is what separates us from the animals.  While I don't agree with their comparison of people and animals, I do find it interesting that even the Atheists would agree that being without self control is harmful to a society.  More than ever, too many people exhibit the character flaw that i'll call "addictive personality".  The idea is "how can i get more, have more, do more, live more, all at the sacrifice of everything and everyone else that care about and love them".  Man, I feel sorry for these people.  Let's pray for them.

  14. Brutal - Google defines this word as: savagely violent.  As of the date of this Blog entry, over the past 5 years, there have been close to 2,500 people murdered in Chicago, most of which were conducted with an illegally obtained firearm.  In most predominantly Muslim countries in the world, it's commonplace to murder your wife, your sister or your own daughter if you feel they have been unfaithful.  In some parts of the world if you're caught stealing, you can lose a finger, a hand, an arm or even your life if you continue to do so.  Recently a young man by the name of Otto Warmbier was visiting North Korea and took a sign that didn't belong to him.  His punishment wasn't a fine, wasn't the loss of a finger or a hand.  He was sentenced to 15 years of HARD LABOR!  The cost of the sign was estimated to not exceed $26 US Dollars.  It was his first offense EVER and it was 100% non-violent!  But that isn't the worst of it, because his jailers weren't good and just, it cost him the loss of his life - OVER A SIGN!  Believe me when I tell you, this world has become more brutal than most of you are aware of.

  15. Despisers of good - Clearly we know that there are many despisers of GOD, but how about despisers of GOOD?  In Romans 7 we find Paul at his wits end.  He's realized that no matter how hard he tries to be good, he's bad - and no matter how hard he tries not to be bad he fails!  He goes on to tell us "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find".  Today, most of us still have this problem, the difference, instead of taking the whole of the lesson that is in Romans 7 (primarily because they haven't read their Bible), instead people today would rather OWN being bad and reject any attempt at living the "holy" life we spoke about earlier in #9.  This is so much more common than you would think.

  16. Traitors - Over the past 5 years or so, the subject of traitors has never before in history been so regular.  For almost 200 years the only traitor that American school children ever learned about was "Benedict Arnold".  Today, the names Jane Fonda, Nidal Hasan, Edward Snowden, Reality Winner, etc are in the news almost daily.  In today's society, people really don't understand what LOYALTY means anymore.  Judas Iscariot anyone?

  17. Headstrong - For the most part throughout history, it's been the men who have been called things like cocky or headstrong, but with the recent advent of "feminism" (40 years ago) and things like "gay pride" (20 years ago), the sheer volume of headstrong, prideful and otherwise arrogant people is really off the charts today.  It's amazing when you look at where we were, to where we are now, you can truly see how all of a sudden, after centuries (indeed millennia!), only now is this particular "train" falling off the rails.

  18. Haughty - Here's a word that we don't see used too much anymore.  Google defines this as: arrogantly superior and disdainful.  Google defines disdainful as: showing contempt or lack of respect.  Directly related to headstrong, it's one thing to know something or be an expert at something, but it's an entirely different thing to be arrogant and showing contempt and a lack of respect simply because you disagree with someone.  Watch any amount of television reality shows and you'll see this happening in spades.  Listen to your average Atheist and you'll hear plenty of it.

  19. Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - Throughout history, Pagans were known to be experts at loving pleasure.  Even during the time of the Apostles, they too had to deal with the Pagans and their false teachings.  Today, in addition to the Pagans (which are still around, albeit in much smaller numbers), we have even greater problems.  With Homosexuality being greeted with great fanfare and praise and Transsexuals in the military being given free gender reassignment surgeries (thanks to former president Obama), we now have other groups who were hoping to join in the fanfare and praise!  Ever heard of polyamory?  Back in the time of Christ, it was somewhat commonplace for people to have more than 1 wife.  Back in the 1800's the Mormons tried to resurrect that and now in the 21st century, there are groups of people popping up who want to do away with the notion of 1 man and 1 woman and make marriage open to an infinite number of people simultaneously.  So maybe 1 husband and 14 wives?  Maybe 12 husbands and 15 wives?  When heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual all begin to blur and the idea of "as long as it feels good and brings you pleasure" is the norm, is it any wonder that they would want broad acceptance of this lifestyle as being "normal"?  Of course if that's the case and there are no more "rules" about sexuality, then of course you have to throw God and the Bible away.  There's no room for God when you have that kind of mentality.

  20. Having a form of godliness but denying its power - And that brings us to our final one!  Continuing from above, if you want that type of lifestyle then the God of the Bible has to go NOW!  There's no room for Him!  He has rules!  He has laws!  He has moral absolutes!  He has social norms!  He isn't subject to the will of the people!  He won't change!  CORRECT!  He will not and indeed does not change!  So what's left?  You guessed it..... BOOM!  They make their own god.  That god they created has some things in common with God, but if you look at that pathetic, imaginary god and his weak and pathetic attributes, you can easily tell the real one from the counterfeit one.  The kicker, is they don't even realize that they created their own "god".  The thing they will never understand (until it's too late), is that their god is absolutely powerless.  He doesn't answer prayers, he doesn't give his blessings, he doesn't perform miracles or send Prophets or heal the sick, because that god is not real.  That god doesn't exist and therefore can't do anything.
...And from such people turn away!

Isn't it interesting, I bet you never thought that so much could have been said in only 1 sentence?  I had no idea that there were 20 specific ideas jam packed in there! @_@

Prophesies are not a joke, they're not a myth and they're not to be taken lightly.  God gave you the free will to CHOOSE whether or not to accept Him.  He's given you sovereignty, meaning he won't force you to make any decisions, the choice is 100% yours.

Believe me when I tell you that the Kingdom of Heaven is SURELY AT HAND (meaning that it's so close to happening, you should be able to taste it!).  If you haven't yet given your life to Christ, don't wait another year, another month, another day, another hour or another minute, because none of those are a guarantee for any of us!  If the Rapture were to happen in the next 10 seconds, would you be able to stand before a Holy God and be found blameless?  If you don't know, I beg you, please reach out to a Pastor, a local church or even me!  For the Love of God, please don't be found wanting when your time comes.

Matthew 24:36-44 - "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

Why I use the methods that I use

There are some Pastors who are so concerned that they'll offend someone, that they water down the truth, withhold information and sometimes just plain LIE about a subject.  I sincerely feel bad for anyone who wastes their time with a person like that.

I'm going to spend a couple of minutes and explain to you WHY I do what I do....

I want to keep track of how many people read this, so please click HERE to read more:

Replenish the earth?

I haven't done this in a while, so it should be fun!

Every now and then I have people ask me questions that make me go "Ah-ha!".
I love those kinds of questions and I have one today.

Question: Why did God tell Adam and Eve to replenish the Earth?  If God had just created the Earth, isn't it safe to say that it was never "plenished" to begin with?  Obviously this proves that there were people before Adam and Eve, right?

Answer: Man oh man... Is Satan ever alive and well and filling the minds of the lost and unsaved with nonsense!  The good news, is the devil isn't learning any new tricks.  True, he may gain a soul here or there, but we all know he can never win!  :)

So here's the answer...  As we should all know (and as I detail in my forthcoming book "But is it Biblical?"), the Bible was not, Not, NOT written in the English language.  Genesis happens to have been written in the Hebrew language (specifically Ancient Hebrew).

As I cover in the chapter of my book on "Choosing a Bible", one of the greatest single problems with the King James Version of the Bible (KJV), is that it's TOO TRUSTED for your own good.  What does that mean?  It means that ALL translations of the Bible are exactly that - TRANSLATIONS.  They're not exact, word for word copies of the Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic, they have been translated using the most available words in the English language.  Speaking of which, if you ever take a look at the Spanish translations of the Bible, you may wonder how the Gospel message EVER gets across, but somehow it does!  :)

In any event, as I teach in the book, any time you come across a word or an IDEA that makes you scratch your head, the best thing you can do is find an INTERLINEAR BIBLE.  An Interlinear Bible does the exact thing that most people think the Bible is already.  It's an actual word for word translation of the original language - EVEN IF IT DOESN'T MAKE GRAMMATICAL SENSE.  Why would you want to read something that doesn't make sense?  Ah-ha!  Allow me to show you an example.

Here is the "offending" INCORRECT translation from Genesis 1:28:

KJV - And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth...

Interlinear - And He is blessing them Elohim and He is saying to them Elohim be fruitful you and increase you and fill you the earth...

Do you see what I see?  If you do, you can clearly see that the good men who put together the KJV didn't choose the BEST possible word (replenish) in this particular case.  "And fill you the earth" may not make much sense in a grammatical sense, but anyone who understands the English language well enough can clearly understand that God didn't tell them to RE-FILL the earth, He told them to FILL IT UP!

This is one of the many reasons that I prefer to use the New King James Version of the Bible for 99% of my teaching needs.  Sadly much of the poetic nature of the Bible is lost in the NKJV, however MANY of the errors like this one are fixed.

NKJV - Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth"...

Had this particular person had an NKJV around instead of the KJV, they never, Ever, EVER would have had the opportunity to share this most false teaching!

Bible Nuggets 3 - Be of Good Cheer!

Did you ever notice that Jesus only ever said "Be of good cheer" when he was saving someones life?

Up to and including mentioning our redemption in John 16:33?
I literally just noticed it myself.

The only reference to "Be of good cheer" that doesn't fit is Acts 23:11 when Jesus was witnessed speaking to Paul.  Hmm... You know what?  I bet that was Jesus way of telling Paul that He wouldn't let the Jews who banded together kill him?  LOL....

I joke all the time that "the Bible is an inexhaustible supply of revelation and information".
Who knew?!  ;)

Starting a new church?

Anyone who has been following me, either here on this blog or in the flesh can tell you in no uncertain terms, that I am (justifiably) sick, tired and disgusted by almost every single church/denomination in existence.

Why could I possibly be sick, tired and disgusted?  Let's start with false teachings, fleecing, poor teachings, poor understandings, altar calls & false tongue speaking, just as an example.

For years I've been told over and over again to start my own church, but as with all things, if I don't feel lead to do something by God, I'm not doing it.  For proof of that, I still have not released my book yet.

So with that said, I'm putting together this blog post in an attempt to help you decide whether or not a church that I would set up, would be more in line with what YOU believe to be TRUE and not what some wayward soul, who only wants your money would set up.

Please take a moment and ponder these statements:

Prophesy or Predictability?

Back in June I discussed those lovely friends of ours, you know, the people from the religion of peace?  How there was surely more to come in their endeavor to destroy all those who don't subscribe to their brand of "god"?

At the end of that blog post I wrote that what I believed would come next, was mass Christian casualties.

Charisma News released the following article on August 8th:

ISIS Kill List Names 15,000 Christian Americans Targeted for Death

50 Homosexuals wasn't quite enough for them.
Murdering a Catholic Priest wasn't enough for them either...
Murdering 15,000 Christians would surely satisfy their hunger for peace right?

What is the point of this blog post?

There are real and reliable news articles all over the world for you to read, in order to make sure that you know what's REALLY going on in the world.

Don't get me wrong though...  Continue to look up, the Kingdom of Heaven is surely at hand!

I just don't want you being fooled into believing what the Democratic Party in the United States is trying to convince you of.  Making the government responsible for feeding, clothing and housing the poor and the needy is NOT what Jesus called for us to do.

Making sure that every man, woman and child in the United States is fed, clothed and has a nice comfy pillow to lie their head on is one step closer to HEAVEN ON EARTH!  That's something that's NOT going to happen - EVER.  Heaven is Heaven, Earth is Earth and Hell is indeed Hell.

Matthew 8:20 - And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

Let's not be confused, let us reason together what is and what is not.

So, will they murder countless Christians in order to satisfy their thirst for blood?
Or will they only be killing those who profess to be something that they are not?

Is this the end?
Surely not...

50 Homosexuals Murdered - More to come?

Last month I started to put together a blog post discussing the deterioration of the moral fiber of the people of the United States of America.  "The people" INCLUDE certain segments of "christians" as well.

In that blog post I was working on (but never posted), I wrote that I fully expected that the Radical Islamic Terrorists (you know, those nice people from the "religion of peace") would begin to kill homosexuals (or the other variants that they love to give as long lists of letters and numbers).

Why would I write about or expect that to happen?  LOL....

Let's start with this...  Do you not realize that Islam ACTIVELY teaches that homosexuals should be killed?  Why would I expect someone who takes Islam seriously to ignore this fact?  Mohammed is a self-described murderer and rapist.  Muslims are taught to revere Mohammed and to follow in his footsteps to the best of their ability.  Muslims name their sons AFTER Mohammed in the HOPES that their sons will be JUST LIKE HIM!

Some of you will then turn to Christianity in order to bring the same charges against the Church.  That would be unwise and a LIE.  God never tells us to kill homosexuals.  He teaches us to love everyone, but hate the SIN in their lives.  God says that HE will sort it all out later.  He clearly states that homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, I'll show you this shortly...

The next reason, has to do with the political atmosphere in this country.  The narrative that this country is being fed (largely by the Democrat Party), is a lie.  Think about this for a moment....

3.0% of the population apparently identifies as homosexual
0.3% of the population fits into the transvestite category

The liberals in this country have been pushing an agenda that teaches those 3% (or .3%) are equal in every conceivable way to those who hold traditional values AND they also are pushing the agenda that people can choose their gender, as if it's a shirt or a pair of pants, as if it's a choice between coffee or tea.  They're trying to convince the masses (and the lost sheep are in there too), that you can determine your own GENDER, that gender is no longer MALE AND FEMALE (the way God says they are), but that there are instead a laundry list of options that any sane person reading them would be absolutely dumbfounded at. (Please see Genesis 1:27, and at least 28 other places for ABSOLUTE CLARITY on this subject)

So if you call yourself "christian" and you support what these people are calling their "right" to CHOOSE their gender, then I feel really sad for you.

Romans 1:28-32 - And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Believe me when I say that if your entire understanding of WHO God is and WHAT it is that He wants, WHAT it is that He expects and WHAT GODS TRUE NATURE IS, has been taught to you by friends, family, the media, life experiences or what some church has told you in order to tickle your ears, then it's time to pick up your Bible and see for yourself what GOD has to say on the matter.

And for those of you reading, who would begin to point fingers at me for various (incorrect) reasons, I would only tell you that there is NO hate in this post, there is NO bigotry in this post, there is NO judgment in this post and there is NO malice intended whatsoever in this post.  I'm just repeating what God told us to be TRUE.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

See what I mean?  People say that the Bible is too difficult to understand or too long or too old fashioned to be relevant.  Bottom line, is that God says that He does not change.  So you can change and society can change and certainly values can change, but God never, ever, ever does (Malachi 3:6).  At the end of the day, you have to decide who you belong to.  Because either you belong to the world (Satan) or you belong to Christ.

It's all really that simple...
God Bless

NOTE: Since I asked the question "More to come?" in my headline, I will tell you what I am expecting.  First it's a large group of homosexuals, next will be an even LARGER group of Christians.  Not 50, maybe not even 100, I think MORE!  How can I say this?  Wait and see...  Is this Prophesy?  I don't think so, I think this is obvious common sense.  What else?  I have my own thoughts on this.  I hesitate to share them as I don't want to give these sick and twisted people any ideas.

Christianity needs to change?

Did you read the subject without the question mark?
If you did, you're not alone, but you're in a lot of trouble.
Good thing you're here, let me help you out!  :)

There are 3 types of people in the world:

1. Christians who believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God
2. christians who believe the parts of the Bible they want to believe
3. Everyone else

You don't like that?
I'm being unfair?
Let's see if that's true...

Let's start with #1 - If you already believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, then you know that GOD DOES NOT CHANGE. How do I know God does not change? He said so...

Malachi 3:6 - "For I am the LORD, I do not change..."

Now let's skip to #3 - You don't know God, you don't care about God, maybe you don't even think there is a God. And maybe if you do, you don't believe in GOD, but a 'god' that makes you feel good about yourself.  Of course, that's not God.  How do I know?  God told me!

Exodus 20:1-6 - And God spoke all these words, saying: "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.  You shall not make for yourself a carved image --- any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."

So that leaves us with #2 right?  Hmmm.... Seems to me that #2 has a lot in common with #3.  How can I say that? Well, #1 are the people who believe God when He says that He does not change, right? And #3 are people who either don't believe in God or have made up one that's permissive of their iniquities. So how does #2 differentiate from #3?  The people who fit into #3 have 1 thing going for them that the #2's don't.

A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus is God, right?  A Christian is someone who believes God when He says that He does not Change, right?  So if you believe that some parts of the Bible are old, outdated, wrong, misunderstood or otherwise don't fit into your own personal reality, what does that make you? At best, it makes you someone who doesn't completely agree with God, right?

What do you call someone who doesn't completely agree with God?

Ahh!  I know... You call yourself 'An imperfect Christian who seeks out Gods wisdom every day'.

WRONG.... How can you seek out the wisdom of someone who you don't agree with?  Why would you???  I know I wouldn't seek out the wisdom of someone who I didn't have any faith in.  If it's possible for God to be wrong, then why would anyone waste their time listening to Him to begin with?

Listen, If you're a #2, I'm not trying to beat you up.  What I'm trying to do is appeal to that part of your brain that has made God so small, that you have no room for Him to be right. I get no personal satisfaction from telling you you're wrong, I won't win any prizes and I'm pretty sure that I won't make a whole bunch of new friends.  Every time I come to you, whether it's here or in person, all I'm trying to do is to help you correct a false teaching or a false understanding.  WHY?  Well, God has tasked me with that job...  It's my cross to bear and I feel blessed every day that He's given it to me to bear.

God said that He would send 'sound teachers', meaning teachers who will give you proper teachings. He also warned us that there would be a time coming when many would stop listening to sound teachings and begin to listen EAGERLY to false teachers that would teach things that sound good in your own mind and make you feel good inside.  A time when you would begin to discredit the good teachers and elevate the bad ones.  I can't make this stuff up, here it is for you to read:

2 Timothy 4:1-4 (ESV) - I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

What's the moral of this teaching?

If you're a #1, then you're #1?
If you're a #2, then you're #2?
If you're a #3, today is a great day to find out who God really is. Not who I say He is. Not who I want you to believe He is, but who HE says that HE IS.

And if you're a #2, take a lesson from the #3's... Because if they're willing to admit they're wrong, don't you think there might be something for you to admit too?

PS: For the 3 of you who noticed that #2 was spelled with a lowercase 'c', that was done on purpose.  I've always felt it best to address false or deluded christians, with a lowercase c. Remember, Paul told us that we would know them by their fruits. So when we see a 'christian' supporting things we shouldn't, like gay marriage or abortion, those fruits are put on display for all of us to see. And the best part, is it doesn't require any judgment to look at fruits. It just requires a bare minimum of common sense.  :)

God Bless!  :)

REPOSTED: My Easy Trip from Youth Minister to Felon

On June 12, 2014, Christianity Today posted an article by a youth pastor who had sex with one of his students.  Due to an overwhelming amount of backlash, they had a "change of heart" and removed the entire article.  What they left behind was a link to the edited article at the Internet Archive.  However, that link is less than useful because it will only let you read the first 2-3 paragraphs.  In any event, I believe that deleting that article was a GRAVE ERROR!

The article, which was written by an ANONYMOUS former youth pastor, is about the effects on him, his family, his local church, their families and the ANONYMOUS young girl he had a relationship with.  Due to the overwhelming quantity of ANONYMITY involved in this article, I believe that it can and SHOULD BE used as a WARNING to others who would involve themselves in youth ministry!

Christianity Today says that part of the reason they regretted posting the article, was because "The post adopted a tone that was not appropriate given its failure to document complete repentance and restoration."  That's nonsense.  The author is currently serving a prison sentence and is unable to effectively communicate PERSONALLY with ALL of those that he harmed.  I sincerely believe that this writing is an EXCELLENT FIRST STEP towards that goal AND I have made it available here IN ITS ENTIRETY, for you to decide for yourself.

My Easy Trip from Youth Minister to Felon
The spiral into sin that destroyed my life and ministry.
Name Withheld

Seven years ago I was hired by my church to be the new youth minister. The youth group was on life support at the time, with only a few students involved. My wife and I, newly married, already had good relationships with the students and their parents and, with my college ministry experience, I seemed to be the perfect fit for the position.

The ministry grew steadily. Within a few years the group that once struggled to fill a minivan was taking over 40 students to camp every summer. Teens were involved in every area of our church. The students were participating in local, regional, and international missions, and were inviting their friends to our activities. The gospel was being taught, and students were accepting Christ, getting baptized, and serving.

Other youth ministers, wanting to experience the same growth in their groups, would ask me for tips on how to reach and connect with students. The growth of the youth group was so significant that our church was pursuing the purchase of a bus and considering plans to expand the facility and build a gym. We had outgrown our own building. I had no doubt that God had called me to the position and that he had even greater things in store for the ministry and for me.

But there was one problem. Because of that problem, I am now in prison and the youth group is back on life support. This is the story of how I went from being a successful youth minister to a convicted felon in 3 easy steps.

My inner failure

A few years into my marriage and ministry I began to believe a lie. The realities of parenthood and marriage were sinking in, and I felt unappreciated at home. From my perspective, I was excelling at work and at home—and this perceived lack of appreciation led me to believe I deserved more.

Meanwhile, there was someone else in my life that appreciated me very much. Seeking approval and appreciation, I gravitated toward that person. She and I were always happy to see each other and looked forward to each other's company. Before long, we were texting each other and interacting through social media. Nothing scandalous or questionable—a Facebook "like" or comment here, a friendly text there. Things friends do.

But I knew what appeared innocent was, in reality, wrong and very dangerous. Red flags kept popping up. Why was I not talking about this "friendship" with my wife? Why was I being secretive and sneaky about it? Why didn't I, in the earliest stages, when I knew the "friendship" was rapidly escalating beyond what it should be, slam on the brakes?

The answer: I had failed to address the sin in my life. Sin that is not dealt with doesn't fade away. It destroys us from the inside.

Consider King David's adulterous relationship with Bathsheba. Well before Bathsheba's pregnancy and David's successful plot to have her husband Uriah killed, the King was already acting selfishly:

"In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they ravaged the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem." (2 Samuel 11:1.)

At a time when kings went out to war, David chose to stay home and pursue leisure rather than fight alongside his countrymen. David's choice to stay home provides an insight into where his heart was at the moment. He was being selfish. Perhaps he considered himself better than his soldiers or deserving of more pleasure than the average man. David's selfishness led to adultery, which then led to lying, deceit, and murder. The effects of his sin hurt his family for generations.

Selfishness is at the root of all sin and I had been very selfish. I fooled myself into thinking that by working hard and being a good father, I had earned a certain amount of reward. Since I felt I was not being rewarded at home, I deserved to be rewarded elsewhere. I never thought those words clearly, but my actions clearly revealed the condition of my heart.

A wrong and vicious cycle

Wrong thinking leads to sin, and sin leads to more wrong thinking. In the early stages of this extramarital relationship, I thought that I was seeking approval from someone other than my wife because I was not receiving it from my wife. But me seeking approval and appreciation elsewhere had dramatically impacted how I related to my wife. The unaddressed sin—my selfishness—caused my wife to respond to me differently. I see now that I failed to nurture our marriage properly, but at the time I silently blamed her for driving me away.

The "friendship" continued to develop. Talking and texting turned flirtatious. Flirting led to a physical relationship. It was all very slow and gradual, but it was constantly escalating. We were both riddled with guilt and tried to end things, but the allure of sin was strong. We had given the devil far more than a foothold and had quenched the Holy Spirit's prodding so many times, there was little-to-no willpower left.

We tried to end our involvement with each other many times, but it never lasted. How many smokers have quit smoking only to cave in at the next opportunity for a cigarette? We quit so many times, but the temptation of "one more time" proved too strong.

Like David, my selfishness led to infidelity. Then, to destruction.

Loving me, instead of Jesus

As a minister in my early 30's, I was in the sweet spot—about halfway between the age of a student and the parents. The students looked up to me as a cool older brother that they could go to with life's problems. The parents saw me as a responsible young adult with whom they could trust their sweet, rebellious teens. I wanted the parents to trust me and the students to love me.

If the parents trusted me, they would support the ministry. But I didn't want just a youth group full of students that were forced to attend. I wanted the youth to love their group. More honestly, I wanted the students to love me.

The youth group was very small the first few years. The beauty of a small group is that one can build meaningful relationships with every student in the group, a task which proves more difficult when the group grows. In those early years, the group was very close. It felt like a family. As the years passed, the students who were middle-schoolers during the group's infancy became the core members, the leaders in a large group. Youth group is a year-round commitment. School teachers have students for 9 months, then trade them in for a whole new group. A youth minister is involved in the lives of his students year-round for up to 6 years. Over the years I had become very close with the small handful of students that had been involved since the early years. They had developed into leaders and I depended on them for feedback when planning activities. One of those students, though, I was depending on for more than just feedback.

My heart was not totally corrupt. My team of youth workers and I worked hard to have a Christ-centered ministry and there was much fruit to prove it. But I was often made the hero of the group's successes. With false modesty, I would accept the praise of parents, church members and students. Many were aware of the group's humble beginnings. They patted me on the back for ushering in a season of unprecedented growth. I would pay lip service to their compliments by crediting "a great team of committed youth workers," and "students' boldness in inviting friends." I knew that when the youth workers and students were recognized, it was still a reflection upon my leadership abilities. Not once did I credit the Lord —as Paul did in 1 Cor 3:6: "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth."

If I was applauded by the church. I was revered by the students. They loved the camps, retreats and mission trips I planned. The activities and games I organized were the most fun. My lessons were smart, funny and memorable. I was preaching about Christ crucified, but if He had shown up at one of my events, He would have been no higher than the second most important man there. I was the king of my own little kingdom, but pride comes before the fall.

In early June of 2012 I was the keynote speaker at a baccalaureate service for the graduates of the largest high school in our community. Later that month I took over 40 students to a missions-based camp. There were hundreds of students at camp and my youth group was the largest. A couple of weeks later I led a mission trip to Haiti for the outgoing seniors. Throughout all of this, the too-close relationship continued.

By all visible measures, I was a success and the youth group was firing on all cylinders, a model for other ministries to emulate. By the invisible measures that only the Lord can see, though, I was filthy and bringing nothing but dishonor to my position as a minister and to Jesus' name. In spite of me, the group continued to grow, flourish and produce fruit.

Warnings ignored

If the consequences of sin are so painful, so severe, why doesn't God prevent us from falling so far? God does not stop us from sinning, but neither is he sitting idly by, waiting for us to stumble. He provides clear warnings for us in his word. He uses other believers to hold us to account and, most amazingly, he use the Holy Spirit to speak to us from the inside.

In his Word, God gives ample warning against sin as well as instructions on how to avoid it. He repeatedly calls believers to be holy because he is holy. Our failure to fully recognize the holiness of God is directly responsible for our failure to obey him.

When Uzzah saw the Ark of the Covenant tipping over and was struck dead for reaching out to stabilize it, was God being unfair? No, God had given clear instructions that no one was to touch the ark because it was holy.

R.C. Sproul writes in his seminal book The Holiness of God that Uzzah considered his hand more holy that the muddy, sinless ground beneath him. He failed to recognize how completely holy God is and how much sin separates us from him. God does not look upon sin. The reason Jesus cried out from the cross "My God, why have you forsaken me?" was because in that moment he was bearing the sins of the world. Jesus felt the Father's gaze leave him. We wonder why we don't feel the presence of God in our lives while we're all tangled up with sin. It is because we separated ourselves from him.

Just like Uzzah had no excuse, neither did I. God's Word gave me plenty of warnings and instructions, which I failed to heed.

God also uses other believers to draw attention to our sin. Early in the relationship, my "friend" and I were accused of being too close to each other. We were offended and dismissed the allegations as jealous words. After all, at the time we were just talking. Even then though, we were lying to ourselves and others. We knew that our relationship had crossed a line and discretion was needed. We played off the allegations and used them as an excuse to draw closer to each other. Sin had a powerful hold on us.

Third, God convicts us of sin through the Holy Spirit. The very Spirit of God lives within the believer. He is guiding us to all truth, discerning spiritual things for our human minds, praying for us with deep groans when our words fail and convicting us of our sin. Consider this: The same Spirit that hovered over the face of the deep at creation lives within you. The same spirit that came in power on the day of Pentecost lives within you. The same Spirit that Jesus promised to send to us as a counselor lives within you.

That Spirit, the spirit of God, convicts us and pleads with us to resist sin. Yet we ignore the warnings. We quench the Holy Spirit. Once a sinner ignores the prodding of the Holy Spirit the first time, it is easier to do each subsequent time. Eventually the sinner becomes numb to the prodding of the Holy Spirit.

God never gives up on us, but when it is the only remaining option, he will give us over to our sins. In the Bible, when God "gave them over to their sin" (Romans 1:24), it means that he allowed sinners to hit rock bottom, so they would then realize their need to be rescued. God does not want anyone to sin. He hates sin and does not look upon it. Yet he also knows when someone is so lost in sin that their only hope of returning to him is to reach the end of themselves and recognize their need for a savior.

In my extramarital relationship I did not heed God's warnings or commands given to me in the scriptures. I failed to admit my sin and repent when confronted by another believer. I also quenched the Holy Spirit and became numb to the Spirit's pleadings.

All things come into the light

You may have guessed by now that the "friend" in my relationship was a student. She was one of the core students, involved from the very beginning. Our families were very close, which meant a lot of time together over the years. She adored me and I loved the adoration.

When my wife discovered incriminating text messages on my phone, I knew instantly that everything was about to come crashing down. After hours of screaming and crying, she packed some bags, loaded our 2 kids into the minivan and left the house at 3 AM. I have not seen my kids since. It has been over a year. The only time I have seen my wife has been in court. We have not communicated in one year. I lost my job, and was required to drop out of seminary. I pleaded guilty to 2 felonies, am serving time in prison and will be a registered sex offender for the rest of my life.

You know your own area of selfishness. Maybe it's dangerously close to mine. Are you flirting with a student, playing favorites or struggling with lust? Whatever it is, stop now. Repent of your sin and make it known to those who need to know: your spouse, your boss, your accountability partner. Deal with your sin before it destroys your life and brings down your family and church in the process.

Submit your ministry, marriage and life to the Lord. He is faithful. He will establish you and guard you from the evil one. Put to death in you what is earthly, so God can get back to using you for His glory.

Sooner or later, all things come into the light.

After what I'm sure was an insurmountable amount of backlash, the article was edited with the following ADDITIONAL comment from the original author (to be honest, I think it was overkill):

Author's Note: In response to readers' concerns, the author of this piece has offered the following clarification: "I recognize that what I initially considered a consensual relationship was actually preying on a minor. Youth pastors who do the same are not "in relationship" but are indeed sexual predators. I take 100 percent of the responsibility for what happened."

So what do you think?  Should this article have been ELIMINATED from the Internet, or is there some actual value in it?  Is there anything useful that WE can learn from it?

Proverbs 27:17 (GW) - As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens the wits of another.

I think that there's some useful discussion that should take place here...
